Owen Tong
Owen has been working in the General Insurance industry for over 10 years. His experience spans both traditional actuarial valuations, capital, reinsurance as well as non-traditional areas such as the interpretation and implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 17.
Owen has specialised in IFRS 17 since the start of 2017. Over the years, he has created boutique IFRS 17 specific models (including PAA eligibility models) for a number of large insurance companies, which are still being used today.
Owen is also an academic tutor at Macquarie University (finance, actuarial studies and statistics) and is also a founder of the tuition company Real Value Tuition. He has also co-founded Elevated Tuition and has taught at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Pre-Uni New College and Creative Einstein.
He dedicates his time and effort in providing real value to clients who are in need.
